• Bayeux - see the famous Bayeux Tapestry, which was commissioned in 1066 to celebrate William the Conqueror’s victory over the Saxons – the last time England was invaded.

• The Normandy Beaches, to see for ourselves the enormity of the D-Day Landings and sacrifice that ensued.

• Lisieux Basilica - regarded as one of the most magnificent outside of Rome. Our visit here will be a memorable one .

• An artist’s and photographer’s dream,….the charming medieval fishing village of Honfleur. Here you can wander the ancient streets, or sit by the harbour and have dinner at one of the many open cafes and restaurants .

The Beautiful Loire Valley

Day 1 Departing early morning, we head for our short sea crossing from Dover to Calais. Arriving in France we make our way to in Reims for our first overnight stay, arriving in plenty of time to appreciate this charming city with its famous Cathedral.

Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast, we visit one of the famous Champagne houses for a guided tour and hopefully a little tasting. Later, we travel through the Marne Valley, by-passing Paris, to Blois, where we will stay for the remainder of our holiday. You will have time to settle in and get your bearings before dinner.

Day 3 The day is yours to spend at leisure. Discover the lovely city of Blois and enjoy all it has to offer including the Castle, which commands a beautiful view of the city. Dinner at hotel..

Day 4 Today we travel along the river to Tours, where we will have time to enjoy this beautiful town with its old facades and buildings. After lunch we depart Tours and travel to Chenonceaux, considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in the world spanning the River Cher. Entrance is included to this wonderful building. Dinner at hotel.

Day 5 The stunning Chateau and Gardens at Villandry (entrance included), is our destination today. This is followed by a leisurely drive alongside the river to Saumur to visit the wine estate of Gratien Et Memers. A little wine tasting will whet our appetites before a scenic drive back to our hotel for dinner..

Day 6 Time to leave the Loire Valley and head for Normandy and Monets Garden at Giverney. Finaly, it’s on to Calais and our return ferry, arriving home late evening taking with us many fond memories of the Beautiful Loire Valley.
